What to do when the Chinese Characters are messed up when extracting from zip archive?
In some cases, I download zipped files from internet, the files have different encoding as the linux Gnome environment, so the Chinese Characters are all messed up, the easiest way to deal with this problem is to use the following command:
unzip -O gb2312 filename.zip |
The above command tells the unzip to use a different coding system as the current desktop environment, other available encoding can be:/GBK, GB18030, CP936/.
