Container With Most Water

题目

Given n non-negative integers a1, a2, ..., an, where each represents a point at coordinate (i, ai). n vertical lines are drawn such that the two endpoints of line i is at (i, ai) and (i, 0). Find two lines, which together with x-axis forms a container, such that the container contains the most water.

Note: You may not slant the container.

方法

选出两条线，使其面积最大。遍历一遍即可。
    public int maxArea(int[] height) {
        if (height == null || height.length == 0 || height.length == 1) {
            return 0;
        }
        int len = height.length;
        int left = 0;
        int right = len - 1;
        int area = 0;
        while (left < right) {
        	int temp = Math.min(height[left], height[right]) * (right - left);
        	if (temp > area) {
        		area = temp;
        	}
        	if (height[left] < height[right]) {
        		left++;
        	} else {
        		right--;
        	}
        }
        return area;
    }
