Priority and Time management

It‘s not the time we spent on a thing that dertimine it‘s result, but the way we deal with it.

No.1
There are always time. Time is priority. It depends on your priority. For Zuckerberg, priority is work>boirng>fun>sleep. For me, priority is paper, pingpong> boring > english learning>fun (not quite sure about that)

No.2
Only plan for 4-5 hours of real work per day. Because days always fill up.
Yes, I didn‘t arrange for the 4-5 hours in the past two weeks. So it looks like I wasted some time under no consciousness.

No.3
It‘s normal to have days where you just can‘t work and days where you‘ll work 12 hours staight. I am already good with this rule.

No4.
Your time is $1000/hour, and you need to act accordingly. My time is RMB80/day. I also need to arrange it accordingly.

No.5
Stop multi-tasking. It merely kills your focus. Yes, I am aware that the more distraction I had, the less efficiency of work I would do.

No.6
Set up a work routine and stick to it. Your body will adapt. I don‘t have a fixed work routine. It is not a good thing. So I should set up it during the time left in SZ.

No.7
We‘re always more focused and productive with limited time.

No.8
Work is the best way to get working. Start with short tasks to get the ball rolling.

No.9
Doing is better than perfect. Work iteratively. Expectations to do things perfectly are stifling.

No.10
More work hours doesn‘t mean more productivity. Use constraints as opportuity.

No.11
Seperate thinking and execution to excute faster and think better. Seperate brainless and strategic task to become more productive.

No.12
Organize meetings early during the day. Time leading up to an event is often wasted.

No.13
A single meeting can blow a whole afternoon, by breaking it into two pieces each too small to do anything hard in.
Group meeting and communication(email or phone) to create blocks of uninterrupted work.

No.14
Keep the same context throughout the day. Swtiching between projects/clients is unproductive.

No.15
Work around procrastination. Procrastinate between intense sprints of work.(Promodoro)

No.16
Break the unreasonable down into little reasonable chunks. A big goal is only achieved when every little thing that you can do everyday, gets you closer to that goal.

No.17
No.2 tasks ever hold the same importance. Always prioritize. Be really carefule with to-do lists.

No.18
Only ever work on the thing that will the biggest impact. Always know the one thing you really need to get done during the day.

No.19
Break tasks into hour increments. Long tasks are hard to get into; feels like it all needs to get done.
拉锯战不适合职场,游击战才是。

No.20
If something can be done 80%, as well be someone else, delegate(分出去). Delegate and learn to make use of other people.

No.21
Yesterday‘s home runs don;t win today‘s game. Turn the page on yesterday. Only ever think about today and tomorrow.

No.22
Set deadlines for everything. Don‘t let tasks go on indefinitely.

No.23
Set end dates for intense or stressful activities.
Everything ends at some point.

No.24
Get a reminder app for everything. Do not trust your own brain for your memory. Always take notes.

No.25
Write down anything that distracts you- google seraches. random thoughts, new ideas, what ever. The point is, if you write them down, they will stop bubbling up when you‘re in the zone.

No.26
  Take breaks. Sometimes.
